Jungheinrich UK Director – Logistics Systems, Steve Richmond, has been named an ambassador of international development organisation, Transaid.
Transaid transforms lives through safe, available, and sustainable transport. Founded by Save the Children, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), and its Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, the international development organisation shares 20 years’ worth of expertise from multiple countries with partners and governments – empowering people to build the skills they need to transform their own lives.
“As organisations increasingly look to optimise their materials handling systems for greater productivity and efficiency, opportunities within transport and logistics are set to change,” comments Steve. “Greater collaboration through initiatives such as Transaid is key to sharing the knowledge that will help drive the industry forward, solve transport and logistics challenges, and improve lives around the world.”
Transaid is looking for more than 100 cyclists from the industry to join its Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle challenge in 2020.
From Tuesday 2nd to Sunday 14th June 2020, cyclists will tour the full length of Great Britain to raise vital funds for Transaid’s important work. By joining this unforgettable challenge, your support will help to transform lives by improving commercial driving standards and ensuring better access to healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa.
By registering, you’ll be joining a team of dedicated Transaid supporters to make this challenge one of the most memorable yet. Options are available to take part across the full 12-day adventure end-to-end, to take on a single stage (there are four in total), or to enter a relay team with each taking on a stage and sharing the fundraising target together.
